Who We Are
The Progressive Minds Show is a 501c3 nonprofit media organization dedicated to building our community. We promote diverse perspectives as a way of stimulating unity and respect in our society. Our dialogue style engages with respected subject matter experts to educate, empower, and engage a global audience. As cultural advocates, we support initiatives dedicated to helping youths, the voiceless, and the disenfranchised. Our passion is to stand for cultural identity.
Our style is unique as we consistently engage more than two analytical, critical, and expert views on each of the weekly topics. It is our firm belief of ideas, solutions, and human resources in our communities; hence, week to find a balance in resolving the challenges of our times and seek the well-being of the African Diaspora and Continental Africans.
Over the years, The Progressive Minds Radio Show has covered a number of topics pertaining to socio-economic challenges, health crises, business aspirations, and many other areas within the realm of things that impact our communities in the Black Diaspora. Progressive Minds' Founder, Alinco, has been very keen on incorporating many diverse persons of gender, race, nationalities, and others who have a direct impact on society and in urban communities.

THE PROGRESSIVE MINDS SHOW is committed to effecting positive attitudes within our society through engaging dialogue. We acknowledge the urgency to our wellbeing is in finding the balance between old and new. We seek to connect the cultures within the Black Diaspora. We organically examine these ideas while advocating for good health, community growth, and unity. We have covered a wide range of topics that impact our communities including social, economic, health, and business. “Alinco” has been very keen on incorporating many diverse persons of gender, race, nationality, and disability who have a direct impact on our community and society at large.

Nathaniel Sena Amenyo aka Alinco
Nathaniel Sena Amenyo (Sena) is a media host, community advocate, and organizer dedicated to elevating voices across the African Diaspora and Chicago’s South and West Sides. He is the founder and host of The Progressive Minds Show (TPMS), The Exchange Ceremony, Progressive Minds Media—platforms that spotlight policy, civic engagement, immigration, international human rights, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Sena earned his bachelor’s degree from Central University College in 2006 and migrated to the United States in 2008. He later completed an MBA in Healthcare Administration at Argosy University–Chicago in 2012. Earlier in his career, he worked with the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) and has a background in data management and modeling. He also co-founded Save The Dance, an annual initiative that used high school dance competitions to raise HIV/AIDS awareness for over seven years.
Since 2017, Sena has interviewed and collaborated with numerous civic and cultural leaders, including Jesse White, Juliana Stratton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Robert Blackwell Jr., Sean Tenner, Carol Ammons, Danny Davis, Bobby Rush, Dorothy Brown, Lamont Robinson, David Moore, Sonya Harper, and others. His work highlights community strengths while fostering dialogue among African, Afro-Latino, Caribbean, African American, and South American communities.
Sena’s organizing includes The Exchange Ceremony, African Diaspora Summits, the All-Nations Soccer Tournament, and Miss African Diaspora—events focused on peace, unity, cultural empowerment, and resilience against bullying, crime, and violence.
He has supported and assisted Ghana’s Presidential delegation led by His Excellency John Mahama during visits to Chicago in 2017 and 2024 related to diplomatic duties and fundraising efforts. He has also spoken at North Park University, Malcolm X College, the DuSable Museum of African American History, and Columbia College on Diaspora, Ghana and Africa endeavors, and has worked with organizations such as the United African Organization, African International House, Martin’s International, Ghana National Council (Ghanafest), and Bantufest.
In 2024, he was an assistant project manager for the Democratic National Convention buildout in Chicago, overseeing quality assurance, supervising labor teams, coordinating with media and delegation leaders, and managing post-event operations. During the 2024 U.S. elections, he helped mobilize voters alongside civic leaders and partnered with community organizations including Gone Again Travel and Garfield Park Rite to Wellness.
Shaped by his upbringing in a single-parent household, Sena is committed to advocating for the vulnerable and centering people in every project. He enjoys soccer, nature, and building meaningful connections.
